The National Recreation and Park Association's Playground Maintenance Course is a one-day educational course that covers the following topics – an overview of playground safety standards and guidelines, playground owner responsibilities and maintenance discussions on playground equipment, surfacing and site items. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the Playground Maintenance Course.
Professionals who should take the course include maintenance staff, recreation staff, school maintenance staff and any individuals who are responsible for playgrounds.

I am excited to be your instructor for NRPA’s new Playground Maintenance Course. I have been a Certified Playground Safety Inspector since 1995 and come to you with 21 years of experience in the playground manufacturing and installation industry. I have been an executive for a mid sized Mid-Atlantic company who both manufactured and installed their playgrounds. I was responsible for quality control, product development, ASTM compliance, and was the IPEMA representative for annual certification compliance. I have also taught playground safety courses to property managers and community associations.
