Registration is temporarily suspended while we pick a new date for this training.  NRPA has canceled all training program through May 10th.  Stay tunes as I hope to have a new date and re-open registration soon.  


The National Recreation and Park Association's Playground Maintenance Course is a one-day educational course that covers the following topics – an overview of playground safety standards and guidelines, playground owner responsibilities and maintenance discussions on playground equipment, surfacing and site items. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the Playground Maintenance Course.

As of 3/11/2020 there are 19 seats remaining (30 maximum) in the training!  Register soon as this program will fill quickly!

Professionals who should take the course include maintenance staff, recreation staff, school maintenance staff and any individuals who are responsible for playgrounds.

  • Eligibility - Course participants must be 18 years of age or older
  • Fee: $175 includes registration, course materials, workbook and lunch.  *$180 to register online with a credit card ($5 processing fee)

Instructor: Mark Ford 

A little about our Instructor Mark:                                                                        Resident of Western PA farm country.  CPSI certified since the first class in Minneapolis in the 1990’s. 32 years of experience in designing, installing and maintain playgrounds and related recreation facilities. He has a special interest and teach seminars on inclusive and universal playground designs.  One of his grown children has cerebral palsy and exclusively uses a wheelchair. He has been an advocate for inclusion and barrier free play his entire career.
