In 2021 NHRHPA will work towards Creating a Culture of Resilience. We will offer a variety of presentations with the goal of providing tools and resources on mental health. 2020 was a tough year for all of us and as we move forward into 2021 we need to remember to take care of ourselves and those around us.
The first presentation in the Creating a Culture of Resilience series is sponsored by HealthTrust. Presenter Lisa Maloney from LifeResources will lead a session on Mental Health Awareness: Caring for Yourself, Being There for Others.
Session Description: According to the Centers for Disease Control, in the United States almost half of all adults will experience a mental illness during their lifetime. The more we understand about psychological issues, the better equipped we are to address concerns and get support for ourselves or others. In this session we’ll explore signs and symptoms of the more prevalent conditions, how to support someone you may be concerned about, as well as how to cope with the smaller and larger stressors in your life for better mental health—all with an eye toward overcoming the mental health stigma and normalizing this growing conversation.
