Session Description: Parks continue to prove themselves as essential, and yet professionals are under immense pressure to justify their operations and tell their story to garner community-wide support. Storytelling has never been more important in a time when we need the real benefits of our parks and recreation programs to be told. This session will look at how social media can be used for good; we will dive into some principles of storytelling, practical applications of common social media tools and breakout into smaller rooms to discuss how you and your colleagues are navigating these challenges.
Speaker: Becky Dunlap is a purpose-driven parks and recreation professional, Community Engagement Manager at GreenPlay LLC, and the host of the podcast, “Let’s Talk Parks.” She is dedicated to helping up-and-coming leaders with the skills, resources, and technology needed to lead their organizations.
